Glebe Farm Foods
Company Profile
Glebe Farm Foods is an independent business led by sister and brother team Rebecca and Philip Rayner, on their family farm in Cambridgeshire. The UK’s leading grower of gluten-free oats, used for producing gluten-free porridge flakes, oat flour and their delicious gluten free oat drink, PureOaty.
Since they manage every step of growing, milling, and manufacturing of their oats, Glebe Farm know exactly what goes into everything they produce. They are the premier supplier of gluten free oats throughout Europe and supply customers and manufacturers right around the world.
Approach to Healthcare
Our philosophy towards healthcare begins with a deep commitment to food safety, nutritional integrity, and the wellbeing of our consumers. We believe that the foundation of good health starts with safe, high-quality food, which is why we take allergens extremely seriously across every aspect of our production. Our facility is both gluten-free and nut-free, providing a secure environment for the manufacture of products that meet the strict dietary needs of those with food allergies or intolerances.
We go above and beyond regulatory requirements by testing our products to <5ppm which is four times purer than the European standards of 20ppm. This rigorous approach ensures that food service providers and food outlets can serve our products with peace of mind, knowing that their customers, especially those with coeliac disease or nut allergies, are enjoying food that is reliably allergen-free.
Beyond safety, we contribute to healthcare through the nutritional benefits of our oats and granolas. Oats are a cost-effective, wholesome food that support sustained energy release, help regulate blood sugar levels, and are known to aid in lowering cholesterol – key factors in preventing chronic health conditions
By combining stringent food safety practices with a focus on functional nutrition, Glebe Farm Foods plays a meaningful role in supporting healthier communities through the food choices we make possible.
Impact of Products/Services
Glebe Farm Foods makes a meaningful difference in the healthcare industry by providing safe, allergen-free, and nutritionally beneficial food options that support both individual health and public wellbeing. Our products specifically address the growing need for reliable gluten-free and nut-free foods, helping to protect individuals with coeliac disease, nut allergies, and other dietary sensitivities from adverse health reactions.
We solve a critical problem in the foodservice sector by ensuring confidence in allergen control. By operating a dedicated gluten- and nut-free site and testing at levels above European standards, we give healthcare providers, caterers and food outlets the assurance they need to safely serve vulnerable populations. This reduces the risk of cross-contamination and allergic reactions and improves quality of life for those managing dietary restrictions.
In addition, our porridge oats and granolas offer a nutritious, cost-effective breakfast solution that supports heart health, stable blood sugar, and long-lasting energy. These benefits align with the broader goals of preventive healthcare by promoting healthier eating habits and reducing the risk of chronic conditions such as diabetes and high cholesterol, in turn helping to alleviate the issue of bed blocking in hospitals.
Innovation
One of our latest innovations is the launch of our Tea-rrific oat drink, specially developed to perform well in tea, which is a staple beverage in many care environments. Unlike many plant-based alternatives that separate or affect taste, our oat drink blends seamlessly into hot drinks, making it ideal for care homes where comfort, nutrition, and familiarity are essential for residents.
To further support operational efficiency in healthcare and residential settings, we have introduced 1.5kg bulk bags of granola. These larger pack sizes are designed for ease of use in high-volume kitchens, reducing packaging waste and offering a cost-effective solution for serving nutritious meals to groups. The format also ensures consistent portioning and simplifies food preparation for care staff, allowing more time to focus on individual care.
Future Direction
Our future plans within the healthcare industry focus not only on delivering safe, nutritious products but also on driving systemic change that supports healthier and more sustainable diets. We are actively engaged in lobbying efforts alongside key organisations including the Good Food Institute Europe, Green Alliance, and the Food Foundation on initiatives aimed at shaping policy that encourages the uptake of plant-rich diets across the UK.
We see plant-based, allergen-safe foods as essential to the future of public health. By contributing to the development of government policy recommendations, we aim to help create a national framework that supports healthier eating habits, reduces diet-related diseases, and lowers the environmental impact of the food system.
